Please Note: Appointments for patients insured under AXA/PPP can only be booked between the hours of 10:00 to 16:00.

Osteopathy is based on hands-on treatment and can be used for any member of the family. An Osteopath treats the patient as a whole and this can cover a wide variety of conditions such as lower back pain, peripheral joint pain, headaches relating to the neck and migraine prevention, joint pain and stiffness, rheumatic and arthritic pain, back and leg pain in pregnancy, sports injuries, occupational strains, work related stress injury (WRSI) and sciatica.

The two pillars of Osteopathy are; firstly to improve the circulation to the area we are treating and secondly to improve the structure in that area so that it will function better.

We offer this very specialist form of therapy, which is non-invasive, highly effective and one of the safest forms of treatment available.

Michael does home visits for patients who are unable to move and come to the practice. There is an additional charge for the home visit.

"Mr Woodleigh has been a great help in keeping me dancing, something i'm not sure I would still be doing if it wasn't for him. He always manages to put me at ease with his friendly manner and professional conduct."

"I just want to say a huge thank you to Mr. Woodleigh for diagnosing me correctly where two doctors had got it totally wrong. I will certainly be back to see you and will highly recommend you to everyone. Thank you."

"I was provided with gentle exercises and information about my injury and after a few sessions I was back to normal which was a great relief! I will be recommending Mr Woodleigh to all my friends."

"Mr Woodleigh, thanks, you identified and explained, in terms I can understand, as to the nature of the back injury I sustained some time ago. Now after the treatment I am back enjoying all activities without pain."

Nutritional Therapy

Joanna

Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional therapy can help the following conditions: IBS, Crohns, Colitis, Candida, Bloating, Food Allergies and Intolerances, Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Blood pressure, Chronic fatigue, Hormone problems including fertility and Conception, Eczema, Psoriasis, General skin problems, Asthma, Stress, Insomnia, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease.

Joanna trained as a dietician at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London and is a degree qualified clinical nutritionist. She is regularly developing her clinical knowledge and lectures to the medical profession as well as individual groups. Joanna is passionate about her work and writes nutritional articles for various magazines.

She uses a holistic approach, i.e. looking at the body as a whole and not the individual condition when assessing her patients’ needs and addressing the specific cause or condition, not just the symptoms. Through detailed analysis of the individual’s nutrition and lifestyle a personalised diet and supplementation plan can then be created. This is achieved by addressing physiological and psychological imbalances and where necessary, she will send patients for appropriate blood, hair, food intolerance and pathological tests. And because of this comprehensive approach, Joanna’s patients have often referred to her as ‘The Nutritional Detective’.

Frequently Asked Questions

When it concerns your health, please feel free to ask any questions. See below for some answers to frequently asked questions. If there is something on your mind that isn’t mentioned here, please use the contact form below or give us a quick call for more information.

FAQ

What is your new patient procedure?

1. We advise new patients to arrive at least 10 minutes before their appointment to complete a form to comply with health and safety. The form will need to be signed prior to treatment. We advise all new patients to read the health and safety procedure online.

2. Questions will be asked concerning your problem, your general health, other medical care you are receiving or medication you are taking. The information given is strictly confidential and will form part of the case notes. The case notes are written by hand, if you wish to have them typed up, there will be a charge.

3. You will be examined properly and you may be asked to remove some clothing. We can treat you through your clothes as well. However some vital conditions could be missed as a result of this. Please inform us if you are uncomfortable about this. You will be given privacy to undress and a towel should be provided. You may ask a friend or relative to accompany you, to be present throughout your treatment.

4. You will be given a diagnosis.

5. A treatment plan should be provided, which may start on your first visit. with your consent, and a health and safety risk assessment.

6. In a tiny number of cases you will be asked to see a specialist who can better deal with your problem.

7. Sensitive areas ie the face coccyx or groins must have a sensitive area signature as well as the TCO2 signature.

Note: All the above scenarios constitute a treatment and are payable in full.

What do I wear to an appointment?

Loose fitting clothing such as a tracksuit are ideal, otherwise any form of clothing will do as long as it is loose.

Can I bring someone with me to an appointment?

Yes, as long as all mobile devices are switched off as this can disrupt the therapy.

What is so special about Osteopathy?

Osteopathy views each patient as a whole, as each person is unique, we tailor our treatment especially for you. No matter how many conditions you may have at once, these are all taken into account and a treatment plan prescribed.

So you don’t just treat one condition?

No. The body is so complex that we go through everything very thoroughly and set out a treatment plan accordingly. Any new condition while being treated must go through the TCO2 process and a new signature.

When will I see results?

Depending on what the problem is, different types of conditions and injuries heal at different speeds. Just like Hospitals we try and get patients out as quickly as possible, well informed and self-reliant with minimum discomfort.

Does it hurt?

There may be some discomfort, tenderness or pain but this is usually due to the healthy response of tissues healing and this usually subsides in a few days.
